Bad Poetry for Me, an Old Lady to Be
bad poetry is a work in progress!
please....if you were over 13 when the 60's came along,
you will not be singing a wearing of purple song.
with luck, you survived and now remember,
your thoughts and passion still an ember.
you did that and done that and yuk to satin sandals,
take the brandy but toss the gloves by the dusty candles.
you have danced barefoot in the rain with arms up high,
you have laughed and fell into a bed of sunshine and sky.
you've swam at midnight with or without,
lost your sandals in a mud puddle bout.
Pavements are meant for people watching from,
Always a perfect fit no matter the size of the bum.
Glad I did not wait to wear purple like so many,
Glad I did not fret over the lose of a penny.
No red hats and purple dresses for me
I will take staw hats, denim and tea !

What Happens?
Wondering what happen to the artist the poet in a couple of people once known.
The artist on the other side of the woods where the imagination could grow within that dark world, that could sometimes burst out into colors bright or the poet that passed by and was forever melted into the hills caught in some web of life not meant to be.

Edsel Ford - Dec. 30, 1928 – Feb. 19, 1970
From Rogers, Arkansas .com

"Poets Roundtable cited him as a “Poet of the Present” when they honored him in 1957."
It would be fun to place one of his poems here, but I fear the copyright police almost as much as I would fear typing a whole poem!
"Raspberries Run Deep"
Yes, this would be the one I would post as it makes me smile.
"Because He Turned His Back"
.......and maybe this one with a tear in my eye..........
.......but then, with each passing year since '77, I find that there is a new poem in this book that I did not see before.
